James Reid is a captain of the Texas Rangers and the father of Dan and John Reid.

James Reid was created for the Dynamite Entertainment comic book series. James was a Texas Ranger and father of two boys, Dan and John. His wife passed away from illness many years ago and he raised his boys on his own. He led his group of Rangers, which included Dan and John, into Bryant's Gap where they were ambushed by outlaws.
